Access & Use
Who Can Access Your Videos and Analytics — and How That Access Is Used
Customer users: You control your uploads and can set videos as Private or Public.
SurgeryView/Genesis staff: Authorized staff may access videos and analytics only as required by their role (e.g., platform support, troubleshooting, platform operations)
Yes — in some cases, videos may be viewed to provide support, troubleshoot issues, or improve platform performance.
Yes — but only when a customer opts in.
Patient Identifiers & De-identification
How We Minimize Patient Identifiers — and What We Do (and Don’t) De-identify
SurgeryView.ai is designed to reduce the risk of identifiers appearing when the camera is outside the patient, which is when identifiers are most likely to be visible.
We may blur or remove frames specifically when the camera is removed from the patient’s body.
We do not claim to detect or remove all identifiers (for example, on-screen labels or monitor overlays inside the case).
Per our Terms/Agreements and Privacy Policy, videos containing patient identifiers should not be uploaded to the platform.
To reduce risk before upload, we recommend:
- Upload from the scope/camera feed when possible (avoid room audio or external views)
- Check for name overlays, MRNs, timestamps with identifiers, or monitor views
- Remove/mute audio if it could include patient names
- If your hospital provides a de-identification workflow/tool, use it before upload
Sharing & Third Parties
Third-Party Infrastructure and Data Sharing: What’s Used and What Stays Private
Yes — we use third-party infrastructure providers to run the platform (for example: cloud hosting/storage).
We do not share uploaded videos externally for marketing.
